Peacefulness is the inherent nature of humans. Peace is neither devised nor attained, but peace is maintained. Anything that disrupts the peace and impedes peacefulness should be discarded

Peace is the precondition of the mind when our thought process is nominal, dragging, and almost not there, and the mind is not churning thoughts. It is cool with no streaming thoughts, maybe there but not attended to. Memories of the past are blurred. Worries of the future are absent. The condition of body and mind is blissful.
The supreme objective of all humankind is to write down the journey of life and to live life peacefully. This peace has nothing to do with happiness. Happiness is another condition of the mind which is entangled when some materialistic situation is accomplished, a temporary feel-good type. This happiness may not persistent, and is the consequence of some quenched desire.
How do we quantify and measure peacefulness? We know peace is the state of mind at a particular moment. Our objective is to hold this state of peaceful mind persistently, 24 hours a day, 60 minutes an hour, and 60 seconds a minute. So there are 60X60X24 seconds in a day. How many seconds of this 86400 seconds in a day we are able to hold peace, is all that matters. We meditate for an hour or so and feel peaceful during meditation, but what is about the before and after meditation period. Are we able to hold peacefulness for the rest of time, and if so to what extent?
What are the secrets of maintaining peace 24X60X60 seconds a day? Have you ever seen a brainsick person sitting in a corner unaffected by whatever is happening around him? Actually, his mind is in a state of peacefulness. The setback is that his mind is not normally active like ours. The secret is that peace is maintained and not allowed to be distracted. Peace is distressed when the mind is agitated. Mind is agitated when something that happened or happening around us is not approved and accepted by us. For example, you are ready to go outdoors for some work, and here comes torrential rain. You know you can not do anything about it, but even then you do not approve of falling rain and your mind becomes agitated, and you lose peace of your mind. If you had trained your mind to accept such conditions which are beyond your control, you would not have lost your peace of mind.
‘Sound mind in a sound body.’Side effects of a peaceful mind reverberate on the body which is in harmony during peacefulness. When the mind is peaceful, its efficacy to control body functions is 100% and the possibility of bodily dysfunctions is minimum.
The 4 Rules of acceptance: Peacefulness of the mind can be maintained to a great extent by simply following a few rules as follows:
Accept a person as he is. Remember that you can not change any person, his or her habits, or activities unless and until the person is ready for the change.
Accept that everyone around you is performing as per his or her best capabilities inherited and acquired and learned under the given conditions and surroundings. Approve and accept his or her performance under the given circumstances.
Accept whatever is happening around you, without evaluating the action.
Accept that you are passing time on your life journey on a platform waiting for the journey to complete. You definitely look at your co-passenger with the same feelings. Maintain your peace and help others to maintain theirs.
If your mind is always peaceful, see what happens around you, it would not take much time when the things will happen according to your wishes and approval.
